Leader Effectiveness Program

Attended the Leader Effectiveness Program at Country Heights Resort and Leisure, Kajang from 17th October to 19th October 2012. This program was conducted by Zurich Insurance Malaysia Berhad. It is a training course designed especially for Agency Leaders. It is also a LIAM 's ( Life insurance Association Malaysia) mandatory program for all newly promoted Agency Managers that need to be completed within the first year of their promotion.
Course Objectives:
  • To promote systematic recruiting methodologies.
  •  To enhance agency leaders training skills in conducting an effective sales cycles program
  •  To build a systematic sales activity tracking / monitoring habit for agency leaders.

Last weekend our agency had a very successful exhibition at PWTC on the K3G 2010 job fair. My booth promoting MAA Assurance and MAA Takaful attract almost 200 candidates. This week we are inviting them to our MAA head office for interview and orientation on How To Start Your Own Business. Selected candidates were shortlisted and invitation was send out. the 1st session on How To Start Your Business will be on 19/05/10 from 2.30pm to 3.30pm at Menara MAA, Jalan Dewan Bahasa , 50460 Kuala Lumpur. Is there a difference between being an Intrapreneur Vs Entrepreneur?

From our experience, intrapreneurship can only work if the corporate culture allows it to because the employees may begin to think very differently, they may start to take initiatives which may not even be what the organization or immediate boss wants.

To us, intrapreneurship is basically having a spirit of enterprise within an organization - and it means that you're taking initiatives and taking your job as you're running your own business. This means you Act In The Best Interests Of The Organisation.

You will want to help the company increase their profitability, to reduce the costs of their operations, to maybe spearhead or create activities, leads or launches
that will really add to the bottom-line of the organization.

It's really about continuous and never-ending improvement for an organization. And if you're taking charge of that, you will be known as an intrapreneur.

Every organization will value intrapreneurs because at any point in time, if there's a retrenchment exercise, who are the people they'll get rid of? The dead-weight. The
people who are just doing what they're told.. But intrapreneurs are people who are continuously looking for ways to create value for the organization. These people will be more valuable and you'll be the last to be affected in the downturn.

If you're an employee and perhaps even plan to remain one for the rest of your working days, we still encourage you to learn what entrepreneurship is about.

Why? Because the generalized principles as well as the skills that you need to develop as an entrepreneur are still applicable within an organization. In fact, it gives you an ADDED ADVANTAGE over those who do not have the skill sets of entrepreneurs.
Intrapreneurship has the same spirit as entrepreneurship but applied within an organization. We have met CEOs of companies who are hired CEOs and they are exceptional entrepreneurs.

Examples are: selling skills, negotiation skills, creative thinking, understanding what is considered viable, strategies and business models, understanding how different factors affect the companies' profitability, and things like that.

Life Camp

This month September 09  will be a very exciting month. We have a lot of activities line up. On 09/09/09 we will luanch the MAA Career Development Club for the part time consultants. This MAA CDC will impart knowlege, skills, attitude and good habits to the members. Memberships by invitations only.
On 18/09/09 we will have a mooncake celebrations at one of our MAA chief Consultant condominium. All are welcome to join and have fun.
On 26th to 27th Sep MAA organising a Life Camp at Country Height Kajang. The speaker is Mr H H Tan. He is a well known motivational speaker. I have 5 new consultants joining this camp. CNY Agency Gathering

Started work today after the CNY holidays. According to the Feng Shui master , it is a auspicious day today .It's good to start the "engine" running again. Every year our manager will give each of us a Ang Pau when we started work after the Chinese New Year. Do good , avoid bad and the whole year will be a good year.
